The brief
Sustainable housing from start to finish
We studied a solution for eco terraced housing, analysing its full 50-year life cycle with bioclimatic design and circular construction criteria.
Project data
Construction
Renewable materials and dry construction
A building that can be dismantled and reused.
Renewable or recyclable materials are used in a dry construction system that allows them to be reused. Insulation thickness, window sizes, their thermal transmittance and solar shading are all set by energy calculation.
Comfort
Thermal comfort with very little energy
Underfloor heating, solar thermal and a condensing boiler.
Thermal comfort is achieved with 65% energy savings compared with regulatory compliance, using underfloor heating, evacuated-tube solar collectors and a condensing gas boiler. CO₂ emissions from construction are cut by more than 80%.
