We are pleased to announce that KAITEK’s proposal for the new construction of El Roure Gros School in Santa Eulàlia de Riuprimer has been selected as one of the top five out of forty submitted projects. This recognition, granted in the competition organized by Infraestructures de la Generalitat for the project drafting, reinforces our commitment to architectural excellence.
This result, along with our success in other competitions, reaffirms the quality and strength of the architectural work we carry out at KAITEK and strengthens our position as an architecture studio based in Barcelona. Our philosophy is grounded in innovation, functionality, and deep respect for both urban and natural contexts. “Atriv3,” the proposal we submitted for this competition, is a clear example of that.
Architectural design and sustainability: the KAITEK hallmark
From an architectural perspective, our proposal stands out for its efficient programmatic organization and its harmonious integration with the environment. In terms of construction, we opted for a modular concrete structure that defines the rhythm of the openings, complemented by brick façades that elegantly contrast with the concrete, providing a warm and refined materiality.
Sustainability is a core pillar of all our projects as architects in Barcelona. That’s why the proposal incorporates high-efficiency passive and active systems. The structure is thermally insulated from the outside and features optimized solar protection to reduce heat gains in summer and maximize solar capture in winter, while also promoting natural cross-ventilation. As for active systems, the project includes high-efficiency aerothermal heating, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, photovoltaic panels on sloped roofs, and the planting of native species while preserving existing trees.
This recognition of the quality of our project motivates us to continue working with the same passion and dedication, offering architectural solutions of the highest quality in Barcelona and beyond. We invite you to view the presentation board we submitted for the competition to explore the details of our innovative proposal “Atriv3” and discover why we are the architects in Barcelona you need for your next project.
