Construction

Renewable materials and dry construction

A building that can be dismantled and reused.

Renewable or recyclable materials are used in a dry construction system that allows them to be reused. Insulation thickness, window sizes, their thermal transmittance and solar shading are all set by energy calculation.

Comfort

Thermal comfort with very little energy

Underfloor heating, solar thermal and a condensing boiler.

Thermal comfort is achieved with 65% energy savings compared with regulatory compliance, using underfloor heating, evacuated-tube solar collectors and a condensing gas boiler. CO₂ emissions from construction are cut by more than 80%.

Frequently asked questions

Sustainable housing

A system in which components are assembled with mechanical fixings instead of mortar. It is faster, produces less waste and allows materials to be dismantled and reused.

By sizing insulation, windows and shading through energy calculation and combining them with efficient building services.
