Project Description
The house is located in a building from the mid-1950s, which has a structure of masonry load-bearing walls and one-way reinforced concrete slab.
The intention of the client when reforming the apartment is to modify the original distribution existing in the house. The previous use program must be changed, adapting to the new requirements, so the first decision is to eliminate one of the bedrooms to give space to another of them, achieving a double room. In its place, in addition, the bathroom is expanded, which is appreciated by having the previous one which had little more than 3m2 of surface. The second bedroom, also double, remains unchanged.
A partition is also removed to make the kitchen larger, which now occupies more than 12m2, being a space prior to the living-dining room. Finally, the corridor is made wider, which allows the incorporation of several storage cabinets, while fully complying with the accessibility requirements imposed by the regulations. The complete reform includes the adaptation of the facilities and the renovation of the finishes of the house.
The result is a home that is different from the original, which has the facilities and comforts of a new-build home, and perfectly adapted to customer requirements.
