Energy retrofit of buildings and homes in Barcelona
Lower consumption, more comfort and a property worth more. We are architects specialising in the energy retrofit of homes, houses and buildings in Barcelona and the surrounding area: we analyse where energy is lost, propose the improvements that deliver most for every euro invested and manage the works up to the final certificate.

What it is
What an energy retrofit is
An energy retrofit improves the envelope and the services of an existing property so that it needs less energy: insulating façades and roofs, replacing windows, removing thermal bridges, upgrading heating and hot water or adding renewable energy.
It is not about doing everything, but about doing what delivers most. That is why we start with an assessment: we measure the starting point with the energy certificate, compare the possible improvements by their savings and cost, and propose the package that makes most sense for your home or building. If you apply for grants, the technical documents they require come from this same work.
Improvements we design
- External (ETICS) or internal façade insulation.
- Roof insulation and renovation.
- Window replacement and thermal bridge correction.
- Heat pumps, underfloor heating and upgraded services.
- Photovoltaic and solar thermal panels.
- Ventilation with heat recovery.
Homes, houses and whole buildings. We work for private owners and for owners’ associations, coordinating the works with the neighbours and the property manager.
How we work
The 4 stages of an energy retrofit
Each stage has its own deliverable and a meeting to review it together. Before starting we give you a fixed price for the assessment, and we only carry on if the improvements make sense.
1. Energy assessment
We visit the property, issue the initial energy certificate and study the possible improvements with their estimated savings and approximate cost, so you can decide what to do.
2. Project and permit
We draw up the project for the chosen improvements according to the Spanish Building Code (CTE) and apply for the building permit or works notice from the council, at no extra cost for any requests.
3. Grants and contracting
If grants are available for your case, we prepare the technical documents they require. With the project’s bills of quantities we request comparable offers from several companies and help you choose.
4. Site management and final certificate
Site visits with minutes, control of how the insulation and services are installed, and a final energy certificate that proves the improvement achieved.
